Renew Hope
Improving the lives of vulnerable, at risk women by providing them marketable skills they can use to escape the restraints of poverty and/or abusive relationships, providing them independence and an ability to provide for their families.
2018 Sewing Program
Mission To encourage vulnerable Congolese women, affected by the long lasting conflicts, to become mothers again for their families through skill development, small business management, spiritual and psychological support and guidance. Our goal is to help mothers become self sufficient. |
Objectives The sewing project's main objective is to provide these women with income generating activities appropriate to the skills being learned, making them self-sufficient. Phase 1-3 will focus on learning new sewing skills and working on sewing projects, including making school uniforms. This not only provides an avenue to learn and practice the skills, but provides new uniforms for the education program so that funds donated and allocated to buying school uniforms can be reassigned towards sponsoring more children or be used for the betterment of the Encourage Mothers – Renew Hope program. During the phase 4 practicum, women will focus on specific projects designed to be sold to the public to help generate income for the programs expenses. All graduates of the program will have the skills needed to earn an alternative source of revenue to farming, providing an increased consistency of income for their families. |
Meet the class of 2018! - Sponsorship Program
Started in Feb 2018

There is no tool for development more effective than the education of girls and the empowerment of women... When women are fully involved, the benefits can be seen immediately: families are healthier, they are better fed, their income, savings, and reinvestment go up. And what is true of families is true of communities and, eventually, whole countries. ~ Kofi Annan

Linked Through Love is pleased to “link up” with Rudi International to empower women in Eastern DRC. The majority of the Eastern population are victims of war and it's consequences.
The women chosen for this program are victims of sexual violence, rejection, or have been displaced due to war and ongoing hardship and are unable to currently provide the basic needs for their children.
".... when we first met the women living in this area of the Congo we realized that they all were wounded on the inside. They carried more than just physical wounds. We came to understand that many of these women have been traumatized by war and never had a chance for healing. Most of the women we spoke to are mothers of the children we serve through our Rudi Education program."
Their wounds are manifest through how they relate to their children, their husbands, for those who still have them, or the community just in general. Many of these women have lost their ability to be the joy of their community.
Moreover, while being grateful for the support provided by Rudi International and other organizations, these women have proved to become aid-dependent. To break that dependency, they need to be able to provide for themselves and their families." Rudi International
