Fostering growth, independence, and confidence.
Our Empower a Girl program was created to help young women emerge from a life of trauma, suffering, and gender-based inequality to one of resilience and success. Young women who have been raised in orphanages or in the slums have very little choice for their futures. As they grow into adulthood, they become more and more at risk of falling back into a life of poverty within the slums from which they were rescued. Here they are forced to endure a life of fear, unsafe living conditions, abuse, and exploitation.
Through proper education, guidance, and mentorship, we believe we can give girls the confidence and the ability to rise out of the poverty they were born into. We believe they can effect change in their lives, their communities, and their country. Research continues to show us that empowering girls creates healthier families, strengthens economies, and provides the key to breaking the cycle of poverty for families around the world.
