This is in no means a final good bye; we look forward to following the next phase in Elissa’s volunteering career and are excited for the next chapter here at LTL as we continue to support our current programs in the DRC and Kenya and expand them to include more prevention, family preservation and educational programs.
Elissa’s hand off has been carefully planned out over the past 6 weeks to provide quality and seamless care to our donors, partners and donees. We are pleased to announce that Nicole Deschamps (formerly our Ugandan Country Director), has taken over the role of President, and Kristin Gauthier (formerly our DRC Project Manager) has taken over the role as DRC Country Director.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach us at email@example.com. Thank you for your continued support!
A word from Elissa Ponich:
"The groundwork and dream behind LTL started in the fall of 2012. My first trip to DR Congo was one of joy, heartache and growth. DRC will captivate your heart and soul. I was immediately awe struck by the resiliency, vibrancy, beauty and joy that surrounds you in DR Congo, but on the other hand there is great heartache. Years of civil war have ravaged a country, leaving behind some of the most vulnerable people of the world. Often children pay the highest price, those experiences are burned in my mind and compel me to action.
When I landed back in Canada I immediately began networking, researching and learning. I called several NGO’s and begged them to expand in to DRC and none could at that time, so Linked Through Love was born from great friendships and the common desire to empower those who are working hard to rebuild their country. The original vision behind LTL was to build forever homes and a village to help those in poverty, and those with no families to regain a family.
Although I am leaving Linked Through Love, I am only just beginning. I am excited to see where the new journey takes me. My commitment to DRC remains strong and in the upcoming year the feeding program will be transferred to our new charity, Village of Grace where I will continue to work towards the original vision of family preservation, family assistance and rebuilding families when necessary.
I am incredibly proud of the work Linked through Love has achieved over the years, and I look forward to seeing where the ladies take it from here, continuing to change lives in DRC, Kenya, and beyond!
Thank you for your years of support and encouragement, if you have any questions or concerns about any of LTL's DRC programs, you can reach Kristin, the new DRC Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org
I can be reached for a couple more weeks at email@example.com."
